What I like about my home especially, is that I am very close to the metropolis area of Frankfurt but at the same time I have pure nature right next to the house. As I am showing Frankfurt on here rather often, this time it is Nature from round the corner for you.

Hier endlich Teil 2 der Magischen Mottos. Irgendwie war der Februar hektischer als ich das gerne gehabt hätte, da war ich kaum draußen zum fotografieren.
With a little delay this week, here is my contribution to the PABUCA 7:30 a.m. theme.
Every morning the same procedure, getting out of bed into the shower (no picture taken here), then having breakfast,
now a steaming hot cup of coffee to go on the way to the train station,
but too late, the train is long gone…
Und Quickie gleich im doppelten Sinne, der ICE war nämlich ganz schön schnell unterwegs…
Es ist inzwischen schon eine weile her, dass ich Gelegenheit hatte, ein Model für eine Portraitsession vor die Kamera zu bekommen. Wer mir auch auf Facebook folgt, hat es vielleicht mitbekommen, der Rest erfährt es jetzt. Glücklicherweise habe ich nach der Durchsicht der Bilder auch die Genehmigung bekommen, sie zu veröffentlichen.
This weeks challenge asks for a series of three. So I decided to show you, in 3 steps, my proces of post-processing. Post-processing to me is mostly part of the creative process, not a way to save pictures that I failed to take correctly (except for dirt on the sensor or slight changes in the framing. Here we go:
We start with the picture straight from the camera. Shot at 24mm – f/8.0 – 1/160s – ISO 100 in RAW format.
It was a cloudy day, so the foreground is a bit too dark, as I wanted to have as much detail in the sky as possible. But we can get that back and, while we’re at it, correct the white balance to get more pleasing colors.
Better, isn’t it? Now there is only a bit of cropping, trying not to get too crazy with the dodge and burn brushes and a bit of saturation and we’re done.

Auch wenn ein stilles Örtchen manchmal schwer zu finden ist (meist dann, wenn man es am nötigsten braucht), sind stille Orte doch nicht so selten, wie man manchmal denkt. Ein solcher ist mein heutiger Beitrag zu Paleicas Magic Monday.
Und hiermit begrüße ich alle Leser mit ein paar „hübschen“ Nachfeuerwerksbildern. Kann man mögen, muss man aber nicht. Und keine Angst, bald kommen auch wieder hübsche Bilder.
