PABUCA: walls

They are all around us and come in a variety of different styles. For this weeks PABUCA topic, I tried to focus on the less shiny but interesting walls of Frankfurt. All photos taken at 50mm f/1.4:

Former U60311, not the brightest place in Frankfurt but had worldwide reputation for serious Techno parties.

Some back wall in some back street, no clue what happens inside.

There obviously used to be a Fruit Shop. Back in the days….

This is the last PABUCA theme for 2014, so „wishes“ would mean wishes for 2015. Though I have no special wishes for me, as long as it stays more or less as it is. So I am showing the wishes I have for all people:

PABUCA: Arrival

Isn’t everybody arriving somewhere every day? So this weeks PABUCA theme can (like so often) mean a whole lot of things. For me it has to do with travelling and as I like to travel (and preferrably also arrive) by train, I went to the Central Station to get some pictures.

„Next stop: Frankfurt Central Station!“

„Please make sure to not leave any luggage behind!“

„We thank you for travelling with Deutsche Bahn and wish you a pleasant day and a merry Christmas!“

PABUCA: things I like

Tough topic, I like so many things. Actually there are only few things I actively dislike, the worst is usually simple ignorance (for both, people and things). So to come to a decision I narrowed it down to

„Things in Frankfurt I love to take photos of again and again and again“

This finally seemed like something I can work with. And really, I came up with some photos:

and I absolutely love Sunsets.

PABUCA: lights

Perfect timing for the new PABUCA topic, now that everything is covered in lights and ready for Christmas. So I took the hint and made my way over the Frankfurt Christmas Market. Of course, on a sunday evening it was packed with people so I escaped as soon as I got all I needed. I’ll eventually be back at a less crowded time…

PABUCA: education

I have to admit, I totally forgot about this topic. So Monday morning I was ready to just skip this week because I had absolutely nothing to show. But on my way home from work an Idea grew in my mind, something I could still manage to complete at home. The downside though is, that there is no real connection to Frankfurt, except for the fact that I am living close by….

PABUCA: boring

Everybody knows these places: You are being dragged there by a friend who promised you something super amazing, but once there it is just another boring place where nothing really happens.

Yeah, the skyline. But everything else is just dirt.

Sure, this is soooo modern. If I want to see tiles, I go to my bathroom.

And just another duck-pond. Too dirty to swim, barbeques are forbidden – booooring….

PABUCA: steps

Just a small step for a man….

No, I did not travel to the moon, my PABUCA photos still come from Frankfurt. I randomly chose 3 steps to be showcased this week.

Very small and dangerous when wet! To be found near the Friedensbruecke, directly at the banks of the River Main.

Curved like a model. She guides you the way up to the Floesserbruecke.

100 years old and currently lost in the middle of a construction site, this one still lets you get up to the Deutschherrnbruecke. The Tower on the right is the new European Central Bank.

 

PABUCA: autumn

Autumn is also coming to PABUCA, so I have three pictures for you, without further comment. All taken one Monday evening under the illuminated trees at the riverside.
